Writing: A Tour of Your City. Choose between either where you live or the main city itself. Think about the following:
What are the good things in your area? E.g. parks, leisure centres, libraries, jobs & employemnt opportunities, shopping, etc.
What are the bad things in your area? There aren't any good clubs, restaurants, bad public transport, high crime rates, etc.
What sort of things would you like to see in your area? More places for children, (what kind) more local shops, etc.
How can we improve things ourselves?
Task: in your group, make a list using the three headings. Compare your list with another group.
Project: Use a camera to take photos of your area, or use the internet. Use the images to write a short report on your area on the computer.
